Les Hughes Les has rebuilt this MGBGT here is a few pics now it's complete. Further down the page is a little bit of the full story.
it has been rebuilt with a chrome finish rather than the original rubber bumpers.
and Les' little MG was on show at the Tredegar show as well.
Brief
history 1977 MGB GT SFA 270R Car failed MOT with
rusty sills in 1988 and was stored in a shed on a farm in North Wales for 11
years before being bought for £600 in Mar 1999. Major work
undertaken: Majority of the floor
and inner wings replaced. Sills replaced. Complete brake and
suspension systems replaced. Engine rebuilt. Overdrive overhauled,
clutch replaced. Axle overhauled, Wire
wheels replaced with steel Rostyles. Wiring harness
replaced Car re-painted. £4012 spent to
restore car and it was back on the road in original rubber bumper form in Oct
2001. Apart from the re-spray, all
work was undertaken by owner. May 2002, lowered
suspension and converted car to chrome bumper. Pictures: 1. Engine bay when I bought the car in Mar 99.
